These multiplier events brought together young women, local entrepreneurs, youth workers, educators, organisations and public authorities. Participants learned about the project’s results, met women who have built their own businesses, and saw the official launch of the national contest “Create Your Own Business Plan”.

Our Objectives

The National Hubs aimed to make the project’s results known to a wider audience of stakeholders. They presented the tools developed by Leaders4Future, including the online platform, the self-assessment tool and the training modules. They also aimed to put young women in direct contact with entrepreneurs and mentors who could advise and motivate them, and to encourage exchange and cooperation among local actors. Priority was given to young women with fewer opportunities when selecting participants for all events.

The Participants

The seven National Hubs gathered 225 participants, above the project target of 210, and every country reached its minimum of 30. Participants included:

young women aged 18 to 30, many of whom had taken part in the Leaders4Future workshops;

youth workers and youth associations;

entrepreneurs, mentors and business support organisations;

universities, chambers of commerce and women’s associations;

public authorities, including the Municipality of Athens, the Federal Ministry of Education and Science of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights of Montenegro.

The National Hub

Each Hub followed a common format of about three hours, adapted to the local context. Partners first presented the project’s results and demonstrated the online platform and the self-assessment tool. In a “Role Model” roundtable, local women entrepreneurs then spoke openly about how they started their businesses, the difficulties they faced and the support that helped them. Their sectors ranged from tourism and digital marketing to transport and green initiatives. Young women’s questions focused on leaving stable employment, managing risk and overcoming fear of failure.

Networking sessions followed. In Spain, young women briefly presented their first business ideas to entrepreneurs and mentors and received immediate feedback. In Albania and Kosovo, participants discussed early-stage ideas with mentors. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the networking ran longer than planned because of participants’ interest. Each Hub closed with the official launch of the national contest and a demonstration of how to submit entries on the platform.

Partners also adapted the format to reach different groups. In Greece, the Hub was co-hosted with the Job Center of the Municipality of Athens and held in a hybrid format, so that young women outside Athens and on the islands could take part online. In Norway, the Hub was part of Norway Welcome Week and included a practical introduction to setting up a business in Norway for young women with international backgrounds.

Key Themes Explored

Role models and personal experience: real business journeys, including setbacks and lessons learned.

Psychological barriers: fear of failure, impostor syndrome and lack of self-confidence.

Local support ecosystems: the support offered by Support Points, public programmes, incubators and business associations.

From idea to business plan: the contest requirements, the written business plan and the one-minute elevator pitch.

Participants particularly valued the entrepreneurs’ personal stories and the chance to network.
